Father's Day Gift Ideas

Updated: May 22, 2020

Now that Mother's Day is past us, it's time to focus on the other rockstar parent - all those awesome dads out there! Whether they are daddy to your little one/s or they're your own father, they deserve some sweet gifts this Father's Day. I have compiled a list of my favorite gifts for dad & don't worry, I have spared you of the cheesy dad shirts. Exactly one month until FD people, it's time to start prepping.

June is a big month for my little fam, especially this year! It is our second anniversary on the 2nd, my husband Caleb's birthday the 9th, and his first Father's Day on the 21st! No pressure for this mama, am I right?! Although I am much more sentimental than he, I wanted his first Father's Day to be special and his gifts memorable. I set to work exploring all the different Father's Day gift ideas out there in search of things that he wouldn't find super cheesy. I was going for thoughtful yet practical.

I may or may not have warned my hubby NOT to read this blog, because I am sharing a few things that I have ordered for him along with other cute ideas (which I will most likely use next year lol). Because FD is just one month away, it's time for us mamas to start shopping - especially if you were looking for something customizable.

The first place I looked was Etsy, and boy was I impressed by all the fun and unique gifts that can be personalized for your special guy. Here are some of my Etsy faves (a few of which are in the works for Caleb right now)!

Etsy Finds for FD

Docking Station

^ TAP FOR DOCKING STATION LINK ^

If your bedroom is anything like ours, your husband may not have much space for his things. (I have essentially taken over the whole upstairs.) I love this docking station because it has a place for all his things: his watch, sunglasses, phone, wallet, and other pocket knick-knacks. I got his engraved with "Mayer" with an M behind it (design 23). I'm excited to set up his docking station and surprise him with it on Father's Day.

Bottle Opener Keychain

^ TAP FOR BOTTLE OPENER LINK

What man doesn't want a bottle opener always on hand? The thing I like about this one is that it isn't too big - the reason my hubby took the previous opener off of his keyring. There are so many cool design options, too. I decided to customize my design and put the coordinates of our favorite pub in town, which is also where we met and where we got engaged!

Beard Comb

^ TAP FOR BEARD COMB LINK ^

Caleb is always losing his beard comb somehow. He has resorted to using my hairbrush, which is fun for neither of us. I thought this comb was funny and the reviews are positive about the quality of wood!

Penny Keychain

^ TAP FOR KEYCHAIN LINK ^

I refrained from purchasing two keychains for Caleb - he's a minimalist when it comes to his keys. I thought this was cute though, especially for new dads! It says 2020 is in stock too, which I was a bit surprised about. Do pennies really come out that punctually?! Anyway, this also made the list of personalized gifts that aren't overly cheesy.

If you're not much for planning ahead and need something fast, or if you're simply all about the free prime shipping, Amazon may be your go-to for gifts! You can see all of my Amazon ideas here.

Personalized Leather Wallet

^ TAP FOR WALLET LINK ^

Keeping with the personalized gifts for dad, this wallet is made of quality leather and comes with free personalization. If your hubby is like mine, he is all about the thin wallets that aren't too bulky in their pocket. You can customize it with whatever message, like a sappy love note, a silly inside joke, a special date, or just his initials. At around $30, I think this is a steal!

Whiskey Stones

^ TAP FOR WHISKY STONES ^

I'm not sure why the gun obsession lately, but it's real for my guy! And the whiskey obsession - well that never falters.

Muscle Massager

^ TAP FOR MUSCLE MASSAGER ^

Although gyms are closed, your man might be hitting the weights at home. Or he may just be getting old and has all the pains and strains. This muscle massager has 5 stars and is one of the more affordable ones I found.

Guitar Pick

^ TAP FOR GUITAR PICK ^

Does the dad in your life play guitar? Mine does! I thought this was a cute gift for the musical men out there.

Daddy Shark Mug

^ TAP FOR MUG ^

We have been parents less than 3 months and we already completely understand why the Baby Shark Youtube video has close to 5.5 billion views. Ask us how many times we played it on our six-hour car ride to the cabin. Anyway, if your little one enjoys this song as much as you hate it, this might be a funny gift for dad.

Shark Boxers

^ TAP FOR BOXERS ^

Keeping with the shark theme...

Dishwasher Magnet

^ TAP FOR DISHWASHER MAGNETS ^

Could be a gag gift, could also be so very useful.

Toilet Timer

^ TAP FOR TOILET TIMER ^

Show me a dad who doesn't need this. I mean really.

Other Ideas

Custom Newspaper Puzzle

^ TAP FOR NEWSPAPER PUZZLE ^

This gift is from a website called Uncommon Goods, which has some of the most unique gifts I have seen. You can get a 500 piece puzzle of the front page of the New York Times. You choose the date - going back as early as the 1800s! The date can be an anniversary, birthday, or other significant date. If the budget allows, I'd love to get one of Gabriel's birthday. You can enjoy making the puzzle together and then maybe frame it! Because let's be honest, most of us have a little extra time right now to be puzzle-making! Here's to hoping that your special date was filled with good news. (lol)

Shark Socks

^ TAP FOR SHARK SOCKS ^

I'm on a shark kick, what can I say?

Personalized Pocket Knife

^ TAP TO CUSTOMIZE ^

By far my favorite gift that I ordered Caleb for his first Father's Day is this personalized pocket knife. He is always buying cheap-o pocket knives that lack quality. Because I know nothing about pocket knives, I took to Google and read up on reviews and landed at Benchmark. I customized the knife with Gabriel's initial on the front of the blade and his birthday on the back. I am hoping that this is a knife he keeps for years to come.

I hope you got some ideas from my list or, at the very least, used this as a reminder to start thinking Father's Day. I may have enjoyed finding these gifts more than I will actually giving them. (But probably not.) Here's to the awesome dads in our lives! Subscribe for more lifestyle, mommy-hood, fashion, recipes, etc. xoxo
