Nursery Set-Up

The nursery is my favorite room in our house. It is also the cleanest and least used room, which is probably why it's at the top of my list. When planning, decorating, and organizing this room, it was important to me that it as functional as it is aesthetically-pleasing. I knew that after that sweet, crying, exhausting bundle of joy arrived, I would not have time to drawer-plan. I found some great organizers on Amazon that help me stay organized while the baby and the other chores constantly demand my attention. Who knows what will happen when there is more than one child to keep organized. Let me just revel in this accomplishment while I can.
Wardrobe
In the top blue bins, I have extra sheets and baby's swaddles. Similar bins are available on Amazon here. I like that the front is see-through so that you can remember what you stored up there!
I love the little baby hangers with pant clips, also available on Amazon here. They are non-slip, small enough for even the littlest outfits, and come with clips so that you can keep the shorts, hats, and other accessories together.
In the left white bin I put jammies and in the right I put onesies. This wardrobe also has a few drawers below. I use the top drawer for the medication, thermometer, and other baby essentials (like the trusty snot- sucker). See the set up below.
In the drawers below, I store clothing that is too big for him. These were the things that I received from my shower that weren't NB size. Keeping these larger sizes on hand helps me easily switch his clothing when he graduates to the next size. Then I'll use these drawers to store bigger clothing as his wardrobe expands.
Changing Table
I decided to get a changing table with drawers below for extra storage. I also think it looks neater when things are in drawers verses on shelves. Here is a changing table very similar to the one I bought.

Here is the top drawer of the changing table. It is definitely the place for essentials, especially when you are frequenting this drawer multiple times throughout the night. A little note about the changing table cover-- Bert's Bees brand is best and the wipeable covers are a big NO for us. They are so cold on baby's skin and I ended up returning all of them. Get yourself a good stain remover and the cloth covers work just fine. Here are my favorite covers.
In the left large bin I put daytime diapers and the other I put nighttime ones. I like this assortment of bins because you can mix and match depending on your needs and your drawer size. In the middle bin I have wipes and diaper rash cream. (Also, get Kirkland brand everything, it's the best stuff.)
In the second drawer are more essentials: white onesies, burp cloths, hats, socks and pacis.
I love this organizer from Ikea! It's perfect for baby's little items and comes with a wooden lid to hide it all!
This is the bottom drawer. I love all the foldable organizers they have on Amazon.

Look how easy it is to collapse them and store them when not in use.
Here is a foldable set that can be used in a variety of ways. I used these organizers for pants. My drawer is just deep enough to stack two on top of each other, giving me 4 organizers in this one drawer! I put the more frequently used items in the top organizers and the things other items below.
Next to the changing table, I have the diaper genie and a plastic "hamper". I use a plastic trash can for baby's hamper for easy cleaning.
Closet
Ironically, the closet is the least used spot for Gabe's clothing. In the closet, I store extra diapers and wipes, toys, and clothing that does not fit him yet.
I use these cute closet dividers to keep the hanging items organized.
Now that everything is organized and put away, the nursery has a tidy and airy feel about it!
